We have been busy at Evergreens, as well as preparing for our next spooky Open Day, 26th Oct, we have been working on our station canopy, funded by the Grassroots grant.
The timber was delivered on the 3rd of October and we welcomed CoOp volunteers to work alongside us in unloading and making the first cuts.
Led by Richard Barnes the team of volunteers and Members got a lot done in one day, with perfect weather too. Since then a small team has daily (weather permitting) been constructing the canopy. Other members have collected some donated paving slabs which will be laid between the 7 1/4″ tracks in the station area, replacing a small patch of grass and to make some paths.
